Sri. Birad Rajaram Yajnik, Trustee of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts and Curator of Mahatma Gandhi Digital Museum, visited His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan. During the visit, he curiously learned about the rich heritage and traditions of the Malankara Church. He was glad to learn that Mar Thoma Church is part of a long tradition which dates back to First Century CE, since the coming of St. Thomas, disciple of Jesus Christ to India. He peculiarly remarked that St. Thomas Christians were given great social and cultural reverence by the local rulers of ancient South India and were given lot of rights and privileges pertaining to trade and religious practices.
Very Rev. Dr. Cherian Thomas, Senior Vicar General, Rev. Oommen Philip, Sabha Secretary, Adv. Prakash P. Thomas, Lay Trustee and Treasurer were also present to welcome the guest. Sri. Birad Rajaram Yajnik also conveyed his Birthday greetings to the Metropolitan.
