Mar Thoma College of Science & Technology is owned and managed by a Registered Society namely The Mar Thoma Educational, Technical, Training and Research Centre, under the Trivandrum-Quilon Diocese of the Mar Thoma Church. This College is affiliated to the University of Kerala, vide order no.Ac B1/3450/94 dated 10.08.’95.
Inspired by lofty ideal of service sans self, the then Bishop of the Trivandrum-Quilon Diocese, Rt.Rev.Dr.Joseph Mar Irenaeus Suffragan Metropolitan took upon himself the arduous task of establishing a technical college at Elavacode, Chadayamangalam, near Ayur Town. Established in 1995, this institution has been offering Bachelor Degree Courses in Computer Science, Electronics, Biotechnology and Polymer Chemistry. Many more job-oriented courses and programmes are on the anvil. It is indeed the only Institution of advanced Technology under the auspices of the Mar Thoma Church.
Mar Thoma College of Science & Technology is a self financing institution and hence the only source of finance is the fees collected form the students. The amount we collected by way of Infrastructure Development Fee (I.D.F) is judiciously used for constructing class-rooms and for buying costly equipments for laboratories and books. This institution does not enjoy financial support from any other body or organization.
Location of the College
The College is located at Elavacode near Ayur, which is approximately 53 kms north of Trivandrum and 20 kms south of Kottarakkara. The distance to the College from Ayur town is hardly 1.5kms Vedged between the Ithikara river on the north-western side and the Main Central Road on the eastern side, the college provides a solemn and conducive atmosphere for students who come here in pursuit of knowledge.
Courses of study
The College is offers four-degree courses as follows;
- B.Sc. Computer Science (Semester) 20 seats
- B.Sc. Electronics (Semester) 20 seats
- B.Sc. Biotechnology (Semester) 20 seats
- B.Sc. Polymer Chemistry (Regular College Scheme) 20 seats
All the above courses are of three-year duration and the medium of instruction is English.

From Monday to Fridays, the college works from 9.30 AM to 4.30 PM with a lunch interval 12.30 to 1.30 PM. All students are expected to be inside the class rooms before the prayer at 9.25AM.
However, they are advised to attend and take active participation in Prayer Fellowship, Women Cell, Debating club, Seminar etc. that might be convened outside working hours.
Library remains open between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM. Periodicals and reference books are available for immediate use. Books Borrowed are to be returned before the expiry date.
Hostel facilities are available to about 60 girls and 35 boys. Students who are admitted in the hostel are required to observe the hostel rules strictly.
