He was the first Metropolitan outside the Pakalomattom Tharavad. And was a great scholar in Philosophy, Medicine and in many Languages. Kottayam Pazhaya Seminary was constructed and functioned during his reign. He was call to eternal rest on November 25, 1816 and the funeral was held at Kottyam Pazhaya Seminary Chappal.
